On July 12, the feast day of St Peter
and Paul Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada came to preside over
the services which were attended by many pilgrims, the Russian Scouts
(ORUR) and students from the Summer Music School. At the end of the
service the 30th anniversary of Archimandrite Luke's ordination to the
priesthood was commemorated. A special word of greeting was given by
Archbishop Gabriel and on behalf of the monastery brotherhood, Hieromonk
Theophylact expressed the brotherhood's support and prayers for his
work as abbot and the continuation of the missionary work of the
Monastery. Flowers and a prayer rope made by one of the seminarians were
presented to Fr Luke. May God grant Fr Luke health and guidance to
continue his labors for the good of the Church.
