The evening of February 6th, after the Small Compline service, the abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery, His Grace Bishop Luke, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas, tonsured to the Small Schema Archpriest Michael Crowley, pastor of the parish of Blessed Xenia in Methuen, Massachusetts. This is part of the process on the path of his being consecrated to the episcopate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, as vicar bishop of Boston.
He kept his name of Michael, but now in honor of St. Michael, Metropolitan of Kiev.
Hieromonk’s family was present for the tonsure, as well as parishioners from the Boston area and local neighbors and pilgrims. Fr. Michael’s conscecration will take place on Sunday, the 15th, the feast of the Meeting of the Lord.
May the Lord come to his aid in his new obedience to Christ’s Church."
