Holy Trinity Monastery Roof Appeal

Holy Trinity Monastery needs a new roof.

The current roof is leaking, causing interior damage.

Metal roofing offers an attractive alternative to other commonly used materials. While other options may have lower upfront costs, they often have much shorter life expectancy and require frequent maintenance. Asphalt shingles, for instance, are vulnerable to shrinking, eroding, and cracking, especially in regions of the country where they are exposed to extreme weather conditions.

Capable of lasting 60 or more years with minimal maintenance or repairs, metal roofing can withstand wind gusts of up to 140 miles per hour and will not corrode or crack due to seasonal weather. A metal roof also provides both fire resistance and energy efficiency, reducing cooling costs by 10-25%.

The cost for a new Metal roof is just under $150,000. We looked at the cost of replacing the shingles, and the life span for shingles is roughly 20 years at a cost of almost $140,000.

The Metal Roofing Alliance puts the lifespan of asphalt shingles at 10-20 years while State Farm places it at 12-20 years before a homeowner would need to replace a traditional asphalt roof. Additionally, asphalt roofing needs frequent repairs and shingle replacement as well as re-caulking and sealing as the roof ages.

We have chosen metal roofing which will last three times longer and is only moderately more expensive. We do not want the monastics to have to worry about another roof for sixty or more years.

We urgently need your help, work is commencing before the weather gets worse, and causes more interior damage!
