There are three feasts of the Saviour in the month of August. The first one was the feast of the Procession of the Cross. The Transfiguration is the second one, and the feast of the Image-Not-Made-By-Hands is the third, the day following the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
Tables were placed before the chapel of St. Seraphim on the left side of the cathedral. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, there was a procession of the clergy, followed by the faithful, and the baskets of fruit and vegetables, placed on the tables, were blessed with Holy Water after a special prayer, while the choir sang the troparion of the feast.
