Feast of Saint John of Kronstadt
On the feast of St John of Kronstadt, Friday, Nov. 1 / Oct. 19th, 2024, Bishop Luke of Syracuse celebrated Divine Liturgy in the St John Chapel “in the Woods” for its patronal feast day. Concelebrating the service was Hierodeacon Alexei (Smith). The chapel is dedicated both to St John of Kronstadt and to his patron saint in baptism, St John of Rila. In recent years, liturgies in this chapel have been served in English with a small choir. Having written the iconography on the apse of the chapel as a young monastic, Bishop Luke occasionally serves Divine Liturgy as a priest in the chapel.
