The feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul falls on June 29 (July 12 New Calendar). It is at the end of one of the fasts prescribed by the Church, the fast of the Apostles, or the Peter Fast. This fast is not so much just a preparation for the feast of the Holy Apostles, but a fast fixed by the Church so as to provide a time for spiritual cleansing after the great feasts of Pascha and Pentecost.
This year, the joy of the feast was augmented by the ordination of one of our seminarians, Deacon Noah Reeves, to the priesthood. His Grace Bishop Luke celebrated the Divine Liturgy, along with the monastery clergy, and performed the Mystery of Ordination. May the Lord provide Fr. Noah the strength to perform his new obedience for his salvation and that of many others in the Vineyard of Christ.
